The Run for Ovarian Cancer started simply with a group of fitness friends and a discussion over coffee in September 2002. Ann Crowley was still reeling from her diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer when she became committed to raising awareness about this devastating disease.
The first run in 2003 was far more than a resounding financial success. It was a personal triumph for Ann Crowley and the Cancer Survivors who joined us on the stage to celebrate the raising of over eighty five thousand dollars. Ann lost her valiant fight against cancer two months later. This year we hope to repeat our success with the goal of raising $100,000. With the help of Londoners who care and our wonderful corporate sponsors, we hope for a very successful day.
It is our goal to try and save lives by creating awareness of the early signs and symptoms of this deadly disease. Early detection increases the chance of survival.
